Meat is not really a necessary food.  We can get just as much protein from soy products- which  are a lot better in many ways. Eating too much meat can cause a rise in cholesterol and risk of getting certain types of cancers.
  As long as you get enough nutrients (especially iron and protein) you can be healthy.  If you have any concerns you can always talk to a dietitian, nutritionist, or a doctor before you stop eating meat.
