What if the whole world went vegeterian one fine morning ?

Ok. theres more to this question than just that. Im thinking.. how does it affect the food chain if at all. How does it affect peoples jobs ? (like people working in the meat industry)etc. and how does it affect the economy.. like.. all vegeterian food being sold…and thats all that is in demand…so ..how does that affect the supply demand…and inflation if any. please help me out here. this question has been bothering me for a while.

Well, there will ba a phenomenal change on Earth.
Less animals become starved, especially Fish.
Jobs WILL have a drastic pressure. More crops have to Be grown, which is a big thing because more land will be needed, so they have to cut down trees and they will also need more water to irrigate the land.

It would upset the balance of the circle of life, in terms of not only the food chain but also the economy and “health” of the earth. Millions of people would lose their jobs, but at the same time job opportunities would open up, such as farmers, construction workers, waste management, etc. When you say the whole world, do you mean animals as well? (or is that being a little too literal?) Either way there would be a huge problem with over-population in many areas, especially those that encourage hunting because of this. Overpopulation means a lot more poo. This has an affect on the environment but I can’t remember what it’s called. Whatever this is called though, it affects the natural water system and ends up in the ocean killing most of the fish in that area. I could keep going but it makes my head spin. So in other words, if the entire world went vegetarian, it wouldn’t be pretty. Besides, I’d miss my milk too much and that alone wouldn’t be pretty. :D

we would have a population explosion of cows pigs and sheep and the methane they produced would kill us all

hows that for irony?

anyway just because some people cant deal with being at the top of their food chain, that doesnt mean everyone is going to do the same . some of us still have to be dragged kicking and screaming to the salad bar

Yep the animals would be happy.
Methane produced from cows and sheep would pretty much kill us (said before) and we would all be dying from not keeping up on the needed nutrients and stuff. Supplement industries would probably replace the meat industry jobs but then we’d all depend on drugs so….

It would be bad :)

The cattle, sheep, and pigs would have to be slaughtered en masse, because they’d eat up all of the world’s resources and drink up all of the water if they weren’t.
