You should start eating veggies and fruit that you love.

When it come to cooking meals for your entire day just search it in google, and you’ll find lots.. from their its just trial and error.

Starting off, how about a veggie stir-fry.. with some salad dressing/veggie oil/soy etc

Good-Luck!

It is a big commitment. You have to be really careful at your age because you have a lot of nutritional needs. You have to research it carefully. I am a vegan and my husband is a vegetarian but I wouldn’t want my kids to be a vegan or vegetarian until they were older. You need to do a lot of research. Check on the web or get a book. At your age it may just be a phase. Being a vegetarian means that you can never have meat for the rest of your life. Think about that. A vegan, like myself, doesn’t have meat, milk, or eggs. If you could see videos on how animals were treated to get milk and eggs you wouldn’t have that either. You have to read ingredients because there are traces of meat in things that you wouldn’t think have meat. Vegetarians eat a lot of soy products like tofu and veggie burgers. A lot of fruits and veggies. Nuts, legumes, and beans. If you aren’t going to be eating meat then you have to be willing to eat replacements that have protein. Some of which may not be appealing to a twelve year old.

Cut all meats out slowly. Don’t just stop eating meat just off, let your body get acclimated to your new diet. Basically do it yourself meaning buy your own foods, snacks and make your own food. Most meat eaters will be irritated by your diet (i just became a vegetarian 1 yr ago) my fam is still not used to it. , although you have no help or advice, buy things to replace the proteins you would be loosing.

Congrats!!! I too became vegetarian when I was twelve, one day I just decided to become vegetarian by cutting out meat. Honestly it isn’t very hard, almost every restaurant has vege options (not too many vegan ones, btw) so when you eat out not much problem there. Salad bars are always a good choice. At home just tell whoever is making your food that you are becoming vegetarian, this is very important. There is an incredible amount of dishes that are normally vege, like mac and cheese(adding tomatoes can jazz it up and adds to your veggie intake, too), spagetti without the meat sauce of course, and who could forget pb&j! Indian dishes are generally vege too, or at least they should be. Middle eastern food like hummus(great with veggies!), tabbouleh, and falafel are amazing, and vegan. Mostly look at warmer climate dishes, not much meat or easily avoidable. Also breakfast foods, yum!
At home it can be a different story though, if your parents are supportive than great transitioning will be easy, if not you should definatly learn to cook if you don’t already. You could see if you could cook one day a week or something. If they are always going to make the food see if they can make some vege friendly dishes occasionly.
Make sure to make the base of your diet fruits, veggies and grains, not junk food. Junk food is very bad and many people become real lazy and never get out of a junk food addition.
There are lots and lots of sites and books you can read, I high recommend doing so. Some books are
1 ) Please don’t eat the animals : all the reasons you need to be a vegetarian
Horsman, Jennifer, 1957-
2 )The new becoming vegetarian : the essential guide to a healthy vegetarian diet
Melina, Vesanto, 1942- (I actually read this one)
3 )I’m a vegetarian : amazing facts and ideas for healthy vegetarians
Schwartz, Ellen, 1949-
4 )You don’t need meat
Cox, Peter.
5 )Being vegetarian for dummies
Hobbs, Suzanne Havala.
6 )Transition to vegetarianism : an evolutionary step
Ballentine, Rudolph, 1941-
I’ll let you find the websites just type in vegetarian and you’ll get about 190,000,000 sites, any with veg in the name are bound to be good of course there are others.
Also you might want to either brush up on vege philosophy or get a good reason for being vege because people will be asking.

I became a vegetarian when I was 12. I haven’t eaten meat since and I am fourteen now.

I suggest that you make a weekly meal plan for the first couple of months you are a vegetarian untill you really now what you are doing. This will help you now what to buy when you go to the grocery store and help you keep trake of the vitamins and protein you consume.

Search for websites about teen/child vegetarians. After a became a vegetarian my sister bought me the book “Becoming a Vegetarian for Dummies”. This book has A LOT of info in it that is easy to understand. If you want to stop eating meat I highly recomend this book.

I’m very happy that you and your cousin are becoming vegheads!
