How can I become a vegeterian?
okay,I’m 16 years old and I would consider me an obesit teen.(I weigh 265lbs). I have tried to diet but it seems not to work,now I have decided to become a vegeterian but there’s just one a problem,my family eats meat everyday.

meat is good for you but too much is a lot of protein. dont eat meat everyday but like a couple of times a week. and take it easy on the junk food. i did it and i lost 10 pounds. i feel so great and light.

A vegetarian diet isn’t necessarily healthy, and one that contains meat doesn’t have to be unhealthy. Eating smart is the most important thing, and for weight loss, you usually want to avoid simple carbs rather than proteins (though fatty meats are good to avoid too). Anyway, if you do go for the vegetarian, remember to take dietary supplements for protein and whatever else you cut out of your diet.

REbel!!! stop eating meat, stop eating fried food, stop eating flour, sugar or anything processed. Eat apples for breakfast and drink a big glass of water, you can have three or four apples, the apples float at the top of your stomach and it makes you feel full almost all day but, do not go all day, then at lunch, have a cucumber, tomato, onion, lettuce and cheese sandwich, use miracle whip instead of margerine (dont ever use margerine) and have a big bowl of campbells tomato soup. then drink a nother big glass of water, at three oclock, eat celery, carrots for a snack and you can dip them in ranch dressing. For dinner, you can have a baked squash, a small salad and for desert have two frozen fudge pops ( fat free and very low calorie but sooo good) and drink water for the rest of the evening, you will spend alot of time in the restroom but it will be worth it, you can go to the library or on the internet and get recipies for vegetarian meals and if you also start walking in the morning for forty five minutes, you will get so healthy, you will feel so good, look great, have so much energy and the weight will fall off. Think about baby cows, baby chickens, baby piglets and get photos of them and put them on the refrigerator, (dont tell anyone why you are doing it, just say that you think they are soo cute), If you feel you need protien, you can drink protien shakes for a snack, It is so easy, you wont feel hungry and if you just have to have a treat. get a small bag of those mini chocolate bars and have two, let them melt in your mouth and really enjoy it, close your eyes and really taste it, when it is done or gone, realize that it was a treat and you can have another treat soon. Dont say I can never have this or that again… because if you walk daily and eat vegetables and fruit you will be slim and trim very soon and then you can have the treat of looking and being healthy, looking and feeling great. You don’t exactly have to stop eating all meat to loose weight! Just eat smaller portions. Drink a large glass of ice water or tea (non-sweetened) just before meals! It fills your tummy with something other than calories. Take larger portions of vegetables.
Stay away from SODAS! If you have to have a desert have two or three M&Ms. The package will last you for days! Instead of watching T.V. go for a walk. All these will help you loose those pesky extra lbs. Stick with it. Percerverance will help you succeed!!

I ate as a vegan, and then a vegetarian for about 2 1/2 years. The first year I cut out all animal products, all processed foods, all white flour and white sugar. I lost 20 lbs in about 3 months, and I was not overweight to start. You cut out all the processed crap and you will drop weight like you won’t believe. Add exercise to it and you’ll be golden.
If you are going to do the vegetarian thing, be sure to read up and study as others suggested. You NEED protein. You can get it without meat, but you must be sure to get it. If you think vegetarianism = eating salads all the time, you will quickly become unhealthy. You still need a balanced diet. It’s not hard to do, but it will take some looking into.

beeng a vegeterian is not the best weight to lose wieght it’s how much u eat of evrything meat is good for u n u need it !i had the same problem eating i eater i felt so bad everythime but u need to eat it to stay healthy just try to excercise it’s hard but u can do itn going to the gym is no fun i no we all no it that y get invole in a activty go somewhere were u dont no the people for example i did tenis
n it was so much with people i didnt enven no did no me bedefor

i think you shouldn’t stop eating meat if it’s only for dieting purposes. You should ask your mom (or whoever cooks) to buy lean meats and cook with veggies. It’s not the meat that makes you obese, it could me many things like heredity, not being active, fast food and eating junk.
If burgers are the kinds of food you like to eat, maybe you can start eating veggie burgers like Morningstar or Boca. You can find them in the frozen section of your grocery store. They taste great and are low in unhealthy fat and calories.

Its healthy to eat meat, but in small portions and steamed or stir fried with LOTS of veggies. If you give up meat, you must eat kidney beans and lentils instead of. YUM
